HPM assists manufacturers and retailers on matters relating to the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, including the regulation of cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, modified risk tobacco products, and other tobacco products. HPM attorneys help clients understand the advertising and promotion restrictions as well as the new warning labels applicable to some of these products.
We help clients comment on the development of tobacco product regulations, including participation in the rulemaking process for premarket applications and tobacco product standards. We monitor the activities of the Tobacco Product Scientific Advisory Committee, and keep our clients informed of court cases affecting FDA's regulation of these products. Our extensive experience with other FDA-regulated product categories also enables us to help clients with issues related to product development, and to counsel them on the pros and cons of different pathways to market.
